Guangzhou Ligihting Lantern Festival
The First Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Lighting Lantern Festival: On January 22, Nansha District, Guangzhou City will hold the first Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Lighting Lantern Festival, which will last until March 30, with a total of 68 days of super long viewing period.
The “Radiant China · Colorful Bay Area” 2025 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Lighting Lantern Festival will be held from January 22 to March 30, 2025 at Nansha Tianhou Palace, Puzhou Garden, and Binhai Park. At that time, there will be hundreds of groups and thousands of colorful lights shining together, illuminating the night sky and presenting tradition and modernity, local and international, unity and diversity to citizens and tourists one by one.
The Lighting Lantern Festival is planned and designed against the background of the 2025 Lunar New Year Festival. It combines the Chinese Spring Festival and Zigong Lantern Festival as the “double intangible cultural heritage”, promotes the “9+2″ urban cultural and tourism resources in the Greater Bay Area to form a chain, and adopts the interactive display form of modern technology and light arts to focus on presenting the spirit of pioneering, innovative and cooperative across the province, and convey the era atmosphere of the integrated development and global opening of the Greater Bay Area.
In addition to showcasing lighting art and culture, a variety of performances will also be held during the lantern festival, creating a “Greater Bay Area Art Stage”. Market shops, flower street parades, stage performances, daily lucky draws, and other activities will also be set up in the park. It is expected to attract millions of visitors and have over 1 billion exposures. It is currently the largest, most numerous lantern groups, longest exhibition period, and widest impact super lantern festival in China, and is expected to become the new top stream of cultural and tourism activities in the country during the Spring Festival in 2025.
Yuexiu Park New Year Lantern Festival: The “Carp Welcomes Prosperity: Fortune Circle” lantern group located in Beixiu Lake is composed of koi, various flowers, light carving background, and ball bubble lamp decoration.
After the construction is completed, the lamp group is 128 meters long and nearly 17 meters high. The background LED light strip of the lamp group is programmed to chase and change light, and the spotlights are decorated. When the lamp group is lit up, it will show the process of fish leaping into dragons. At that time, everyone may try running along the lantern group for a hundred meters by the lake, running towards 2025 with koi and chasing good luck in the waves.
The other bright lighting group of Beixiu Lake, “Pisces Chasing the Waves,” is 14 meters long, 14 meters wide, and 10 meters high. The entire lamp group is full of vitality and dynamism, with a height of three floors.
This year’s Spring Festival Lighting Lantern Festival has designed a rich and colorful lantern viewing route for everyone. The route passes through three entrances of Yuexiu Park, connecting 10 themed exhibition areas. You can choose to start your journey with the main entrance, north entrance, and Yitai entrance.
